The Numan Network is a loose affiliation of people who use the internet to exchange information about singer/songwriter Gary Numan, and/or to promote Gary's career, record sales, concert tours, etc. This quite definitely includes the people who set up and maintain Numan-related sites on the World Wide Web, including Gary Numan himself, as well as things like mailing lists, newsgroups, IRC channels, and other internet-related activities.

The Numan Network is not owned nor controlled by The Gary Numan Fan Server. We're merely members who're happy to share this information and act as a repository for Numan Network information and logos.

Membership is free. There's no application to fill out. The only person whose permission you must ask for is yourself. Simply flying the Numan Network logo on your web page marks it as a Numan Network site. HOWEVER, you should understand that the existing site authors will generally not link to your site unless you follow the following set of broad guidelines - the interpretation of which is up to each individual site author:

1. Your site should have some content related to Gary Numan.
2. Overall, your site should portray Gary Numan in a positive light. Some criticism, particularly of a constructive nature, is certainly acceptable.
3. Your site should not be a thinly-veiled front for a commercial enterprise. This guideline is somewhat contentious in that some site authors will not link to, say, a fanzine page, whereas other authors will.
4. Your site should not promote the sale of illegal and/or "bootleg" material. Gary doesn't mind a modest bootleg scene surrounding his music, but lately there've been some attempts at marketing slick CD packages that look "official" but are 100% illegal. If in doubt, ask.

The size of your site is irrelevent. The amount of Numan content is similarly irrelevent. If you fit the above guidelines, chances are good that you'll get linked to by most Numan Network sites. In order to be linked, it is best that you email a link request to each individual site author.
