The Gary Numan Info Server is a complete internet presence provisioning system, with a unique twist: it is run by Gary Numan fans, for Gary Numan fans.

It began as a partnership between four guys - Joey Lindstrom, Rob Eggleston, Martin Purvis, and Ross Procter - who became very dissatisfied with the level of service being offered by commercial web providers, and with the fact that most of them charge a lot of money for any little add-ons, such as adding scripts, email addresses, and the like.

We decided to create our own internet service.

We pooled our money and got together everything we needed. A Pentium-class computer with Windows NT, various LAN-related hardware, and an ADSL connection to the 'net. And thus an idea was turned into reality.

Our ambitions are modest. We simply want a first-class web and email system that isn't overloaded by thousands of customers, that we can customize to our own liking without paying extra or having to deal with overworked administrators. In short, we simply wish to create that which we've been unable to get anywhere else.

The result is the system you're using to view this page. And you can be a part of it.

If you are a Gary Numan site author, click on "Web Site Hosting" on the left. You'll find we have a lot to offer - especially since it's free. Please consider making the Gary Numan Fan Server your new home.

If you're just a fan of Gary Numan, click on "Email Service". For a modest annual fee, you can have a distinctive email address that lets the world know you're a fan of Gary Numan, the finest musician in the world.

The Gory Details

The Gary Numan Info Server runs primarily on four Windows NT boxes hooked up to a LAN in Joey Lindstrom's home - in fact it's physically located in Joey's basement, which allows him to simultaneously keep an eye on the server and catch the odd Flames game on TV. (That's hockey, for those of you who live in uncivilized countries.) Our internet connection is provided by Cadvision, which has installed a speedy ADSL link into Joey's basement. The whole kit and caboodle is located in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. And if you've never heard of Calgary... well, shame on you! :-)
